2 drug traffickers arrested with Rs 10 lakh heroin

JAMMU, Jan 17: Gangyal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ launched by SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta arrested two drug traffickers and recovered 110 grams heroin worth over Rs 10 lakh from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO SI Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar laid a naka and intercepted a Ford Figo car bearing registration number DL7CN-5108.
During checking, police recovered 110 grams of heroin valuing over Rs 10 lakh from the possession of two persons traveling in the car and nabbed them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Bashir Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Rassol Bhat of Srinagar, at present Sidhra and Manzoor Ahmed, son of Abdul Jabbar of district Baramulla, at present Sidhra.
A case under FIR Number 4/18 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them at Police Station
Gangyal and investigation started.
