UDHAMPUR, July 13: A young girl was allegedly raped by two youth in Chenani when she was on her way to home from a relative’s house, here today.
Acting on written complaint of the victim, Police has arrested the alleged rapists, who were identified as Ashraf and Abdul Qayoom of Sudhmahadev.
The victim was sent to District Hospital Udhampur for medical examination while a case under Section 376 CrPC has been registered against the accused in Chenani Police Station.
Reports said that family members of 18-year old victim approached the Chenani Police Station and alleged that the girl was intercepted and raped by the accused in a semi forest area when she was returning from a relative house.
After a series of raids by Incharge PP Sudhmahadev, K M Khajuria, both the accused were arrested from a hideout.
