JAMMU:Army today said that so far, two improvised explosive devices were recovered from the encounter site along the Line of Control, where a jawan got martyred, while a militant was killed in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“So far, two IEDs have been recovered and defused, while operation is still on and arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter site,” a senior Army officer told reporters.
He said that attempt made by militants to target Indian posts by planting IEDs has been foiled.
“A group of 3 to 4 infiltrators sneaked in and planted IEDs to target Indian posts in Krishna Ghati Sector,” the officer asserted. Attempt was foiled with killing of one militant and an Army commando got martyred, he added. (UNI)
