MENDHAR, Aug 17: Two soldiers were killed when an Army tanker skidded of the road and fell into a gorge in Mendhar area of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that mishap took place when the water tanker of Army was going towards Upper Darana to fetch water for the unit (15 Mahar) located in Mankote area. Near Darana on narrow road, the driver lost control due to some mechanical failure and the vehicle landed into a deep gorge killing both the soldiers, driver and his associate on the spot.
They were identified as Sepoy N K Ramesh Bagial and Sepoy R K Patel of 15 Mahar. Their bodies after postmortem were sent to their respective homes towns.
