2 killed, 10 hurt in road accidents

SAMBA, Sept 4:  Two school children were killed while ten persons were injured in three separate road accidents in district Samba today.
A police spokesman said that 4th class student Sian Saroj, daughter of Harbans Lal, resident of Ranjari died on the spot after her school mini-bus, JK02AK-5911   crushed the girl under its rear wheel. The mishap took place when the girl boarded off the bus after coming from school- St Gladius Convent School, Jakh. The girl fell down while boarding off and got crushed under the wheel. The police seized the vehicle and arrested its driver.
In another similar incident, Army school bus Samba crushed 5th class student Gurpreet Singh, son of Mohan Singh resident of Plouta Ramgarh. The boy slipped in the stairs and fell down while the vehicle crushed the boy under rear wheel. Ramgarh police seized the bus No. JK02H/ 6468 and arrested its driver.
At least ten persons were injured when a Super Fast bus No. JK02AG/4479, which was on its way to Kathua from Jammu, collided with a truck near Raya Morh this afternoon. The vehicle was over taking a truck and was hit with the truck moving ahead on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway.
The injured were shifted to Emergency hospital, Vijaypur. They have been identified as Jagir Massih (28), son of Krishan Chand of Hiranagar, Anoop Singh (24), son of Sobha Singh of Nud, Shivani Rajput (26), daughter of Dewan Singh of Amala, Shakuntla Devi (37), wife of Shiv Ram, resident of Rehari Jammu,  Haswant Singh, son of Sardari Lal  of Chak Bana, Jagdeep Singh, son of Lt Avtar Singh of Vijaypur. Shamas Din, son of Faqar Mohd of Rakh Barotian and Surinder Kumar, son of Lt Satpal of Mela near Hiranagar.
