2 killed, 11 injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Two persons were killed while eleven others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a passenger vehicle bearing registration number JK03A-6532 hit a pedestrian namely Sara Begum on general road Qoimoh in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. “The injured lady was shifted to the District Hospital Anantnag where she succumbed to her injuries. Police have registered a case in this regard.
He said a truck JK05C-8319 collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK05A-4835 at Green Town in Sopore of north Kashmir’ Baramulla district, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist namely Mohammad Ashraf Gadoo and a pillion namely Noor Mohammad. Both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Sopore for treatment where from motorcyclist Mohammad Ashraf was referred to SKIMS Soura. However Ashraf succumbed to his injuries.
He said eight persons were injured when a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK06-5288, they were boarding, met with an accident at Drangbal in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. All the injured have been shifted to the Hospital for treatment.
A motorcycle skidded off the road at Nawa Link Road, resulting in injuries to two pillions identified as Mohammad Jabar and Tawqeer Ahmad, both resident of Bihar. “Both the injured were shifted to the Hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman said.
