2 killed, 23 injured as mini bus plunges into gorge in Rajouri

JAMMU, Oct 30:
Two people were killed and around 23 got injured, four of them critically, when a mini bus they were  travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge  in mountainous Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The mini bus was on way from Laam Nowshera to Khaak, Kandi, this evening, which turned turtle and plunged into 150-feet deep gorge near Buddi Morh,” a senior police official here said.
He said that negligent and rash driving was the reason behind the mishap.
Rescue operation was launched and the injured were shifted to the district hospital from where the four critically injured were referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital here.
The police officer said that members of three to four families were travelling in the vehicle and were going to attend the condolence meeting of one of their relatives in village Khaak in Kandi belt.
However, the identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained.  (UNI)
