JAMMU, Sept 18: With two more people today testing positive for Dengue virus the total number of patients affected with this vector-borne disease in Jammu region has reached to 11.
According to sources in microbiology department of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), two more people, who are reportedly under 18, were today turned out to be positive for Dengue virus.
Sources said that with these two fresh cases of Dengue, the total number of persons affected with this dreaded disease has reached eleven.
When contacted, Dr BS Pathania, Director Health Jammu, said that the department had not received any report from GMCH, today. However he revealed that till yesterday the number of people affected with Dengue was 11 including two those who though belong to Jammu region but they were diagnosed as well as treated for Dengue virus outside the State.
He said out of these 11 Dengue victims, four belong to Jammu district, two are from Kathua district while one each are from Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba and Udhampur district.
“However, none among these patients was found to be critical”, he added.
