2 PDP activists arrested for attack

RAJOURI, Dec 1: The police today arrested two activists of PDP for alleged attack on some Congress workers and manhandling a police officer in Manjakote this evening.
A senior police official said that a local PDP leader from Manjakote area  Mohd Ishfaq and his father Mohd Yaqoob from Kotli village were arrested after they attacked some Congress workers and also manhandled SHO Manjakote. He said the police also snatched an axe from Yaqoob who turned violent. A case FIR No. 108/ 2014 under sections 307, 353, 332,, 382, 147 and 148 RPC has been registered against them and both were arrested.
He alleged that Congress workers were returning from the rally of Shabir Khan (MLA) and on the way, Mohd Ishfaq stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road and along with his associates started abusing and beating some Confgress workers.  The locals contacted police and then police party led by SHO Mehmood Khan reached at the spot. Accused and his father also tried to attack police.
Meanwhile, PDP workers led by party candidate from Rajouri Qamar Choudhary, senior leader Tazeem Dar and district president Qayoom Dar came to know about the incident and thronged the office of DC at Rajouri. They started protest there and alleged that Congress workers beaten up Mohd Ishfaq and police siding with Congress MLA Shabir Khan arrested PDP leader and his father.  Tazeem Dar told the Excelsior that SHO was supporting Congress MLA and he has dragged PDP leader in false case on his behest. He demanded that SHO should be removed immediately. The DC Rajouri, later met the PDP leaders and asked them to submit a written report in this connection and assured to hold an inquiry.
