2 Tehsildars suspended

JAMMU, July 31: District Development Commissioner Doda Simrandeep Singh has placed under suspension two Tehsildars for their failure to furnish information regarding encroachments.
As per the order, on July 23, 2018, Tehsildar Kahara Bansi Lal and Tehsildar Chilli Pingal Manjeet Singh were asked to furnish the information regarding encroachment of State land, forest land and water bodies for onward submission to the higher authorities by or before July 30, 2018.
However, the requisite information was not received from them on scheduled date and time and keeping in view urgency of the matter the Tehsildars were asked to attend a meeting in DC office today.
Neither these Tehsildars submitted the requisite information nor attended the meeting in DC office either in person or through a representative.
As the conduct on the part of these officers tantamount to violation of Rule 3 of Government Employees Conduct Rules and warrants departmental action under CC&A Rules, 1971, the Deputy Commissioner while exercising powers vested in him in terms of SRO-66 dated February 25, 1966 has placed under suspension these Tehsildars with immediate effect.
Both these officers shall remain attached in the DDC office till further orders, the suspension order read.
Meanwhile, SDM Gandoh will look after the charge of Tehsildar Chilli Pingal and SDM Thathri will look after the charge of Tehsildar Kahara. Both SDMs have been directed to ensure that information regarding encroachments is furnished by tomorrow evening.
