21-member State judo team leaves for Haridwar

JAMMU, Dec 16: After selection trials and screening by J&K State Sports Council at Dogra Ground, Shastri Nagar, the Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association selected State Judo team, which left for Haridwar to participate in the Senior National Judo Championship to be held from December 16 to December 20, 2014.The team includes 6 boys, 7 girls, 2 coaches, 1 manager and 1 technical official.
The team is being accompanied by coachws Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia, manager Vikas Gupta and technical official, Suraj Bhan Singh. National medalist, Nippu Jamwal, who has attended India Camps many a time and won gold in Junior National Judo Championship is also among the participants.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Rajan Sharma, Sports Officer; Vikas Gupta, secretary J&K Judo Association and joint secretary Judo Federation of India; R C Thakur senior vice president; Varinder Dogra, treasurer; Shiv Kumar,  joint secretary and Suraj Sharma from Judo Association.
The team: Boys: Aman Gupta, Vishal Singh, Farhat Gulzar, Danish Sharma, Ranjodh Singh and Satyajeet Singh.
Girls: Yashika Jamwal, Shivali Manhas, Nippu Jamwal, Shweta Thakur, Yasmeer Nazir, Sadaf Iqbal Khan and Sara Khan.
