JAMMU, May 4: Police claimed today that they have identified 211 properties in Jammu District as disputed.
“A total of 211 properties have been identified as disputed by the police in Jammu District so far and further data is being updated,” said a police spokesperson.
He said the identification of the properties is aimed at resolving the disputes by involving the Revenue Department officials.
He said as part of the initiative, Disputed Property Registers are also being maintained in every police station
All sorts of details regarding property dispute shall be entered in the Disputed Property Registers so that it can serve as a data bank to provide relevant information to resolve the disputes amicably, the police spokesperson said.
Besides this, he said, FIR would also be registered in cases where the parties fail to address the matters mutually and peacefully.
Any matter of disputed property shall be looked into and effective measures shall be taken by the concerned officer to ensure quick redressal of the matter under the law of the land, he added.
