JAMMU, Nov 26: The opening ceremony of 22 J&K Archery Championship was held here today held at Green Field Ground.
The championship will be there till November 28, 2024 in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
About 350 archers from 10 districts of J&K are participating in the championship.
Rajeev Sharma, Member, J&K Sports Council was chief guest on this occasion while other distinguished guests were Md. Haneef, Chief Sports Officer, Baljinder Singh, DSO JKSC; DySP Sharat Chander Singh, Vikram Singh, president Archery J&K, Sunil Sharma, general secretary Archery J&K, Ajay Sharma general secretary TT J&K.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest emphasized on the importance of hosting such events in the future to promote archery and other sports in the region.
The results in Under 10 Boys category declared Hargovind Singh at first place, Harjoot, at second, Stanzin, third and Nitya Sharma at fourth place.
In Girls, winners were Hetal Rai, Charandeep, Shanaya Sharma and Jas Jasnoor while in Mini Sub Junior Boys category, winners were Paramjoot, Metansh, Ashank and Jeet while girl winners were Manikarnika, Aradhya Sohan, Jiya Salotra and Kalyani.
In Sub Junior Boys category winners were Pramjot, Ashank, Sam and Layakh while in Girls category, winners were Manjkarnika, Shambhavi, Janvi, Mehroom and in Junior category winners were Layakh Dhara, Pramjot, Asank and Arshit while for Girls winners remained Manikarnika, Aryadha Sohan, Pinki Sharma and Sambhavi.
