POONCH, Nov 2: 22nd District Table Tennis Championship was declared open by Ajeet Singh Jeet, president District TT Association Poonch in presence of Er Saleem Bandey, gen. secretary, Table Tennis Association Poonch and PEM Narinder Singh.
50 players in different categories have confirmed their entries.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajeet Singh Jeet and Saleem Bandey impressed upon the players to play the tournament in right spirit.
The matches were played under the supervision of Salil Raina, Narinder Singh PEM and Sandeep Luthra.
In Cadet category, Shafan beat Pratham (11-9, 11-6), Danish drubbed Anuj (11-2, 11-7), Faisal Mir got better of Bandey (11-9-11-8), Baljeet prevailed over Jagjeet (11-5, 11-7).
Later-on, in the first semifinal, Danish prevailed over Safhan (11-7, 11-7), while in second semifinal, Faisal Mir beat Baljeet (11-5,11-8).
In cadet category finals, Faisal Mir defeated Baljeet (12-10, 11-10).
The matches were held under the supervision of Sandeep Luthra, technical advisor of the Championship.
