JOURIAN, Dec 9: The 23rd Martyr’s day of Shaheed Shamsher Singh, Dy Commandant was solemnly observed at the Shaheed Shamsher Singh Dy Comdt GHSS, Jourian, here today.
On the occasion, many people paid tribute to the valiant hero, who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, embodying the highest ideals of duty, courage and patriotism.
The ceremony commenced with the garlanding of Shaheed Shamsher Singh’s portrait by Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA Akhnoor constituency and Dy. Comdt. Aashutosh Sharma, 195Bn BSF Akhnoor, followed by a two-minute silence in his memory and singing of National anthem.
The program included patriotic songs, speeches, and cultural performances that highlighted his unwavering dedication to the nation.
Family members of Shaheed Shamsher Singh were also present at the ceremony. They expressed gratitude for the continued remembrance of his valour and selflessness.
The event concluded with a pledge by the students to uphold the values of unity, integrity and service to the nation, presentation of Shawl and memento to honour Veer Naari Krishna Devi by Indu Bala, Principal SSSDC Govt HSS, Jourian.
Among others who attended the ceremony included DDC Bhalwal Brahmana, Rajeev Sharma, ex MLA Akhnoor constituency, Military personnel and the community members.
