UDHAMPUR, May 3: The 24th Bamhag Kesari annual Dangal is scheduled to be held at Sardabbar Kalsote (Moungri) on May 16.
Dangal is being organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association with the active support of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, Bamhag Kesari Dangal Committee and District Administration Udhampur as a part of annual three days historic Mela.
The decision for organizing Kanta Kushti Dangal was taken in a meeting held at Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner Office Udhampur held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai, statement said.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling, Advocate Swantanter Dev Kotwal, Chairman Lord Shiv Parvati Caves Shrine ( Moungri ) Development Board, Former Sarpanch Hans Raj, Varinder Badyal, Om Parkash Verma and Dhani Ram, General Secretary of Bamhag Kesari Dangal Committee were the prominent persons present in the meeting.
Shiv Kumar Sharma said it is also decided to honour the winner of first main malli bout as the best Wrestler of the Dangal with ” 24th Bamhag Kesari 2024″ title, he would be awarded with handsome cash prize in addition to ” Gurj ( Gadda) and Patta”.
Sharma appealed to Tehsildar Moungri Arushi Saberwal, who is also Mela officer to make fool proof arrangements of security and cleanliness in and around the venue of Dangal. The organizers said all the interested wrestlers of Jammu region have been asked to Contact Shiv Kumar Sharma on his contact numbers ( 94191-61880, 99069-72888) for their entries in the Dangal.
