24th J&K-UT Sport Climbing C’ship commences

Excelsior Sports Correspondent Jammu, Oct 25: Former Minister and MLA North Jammu, Sham Lal Sharma, inaugurated the 24th J&K UT Sport Climbing Championship at the Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall, Sprawling Buds ICSE School, here today. Organized by the Mountaineering Association of J&K, the championship has drawn over 400 climbers from across the region. Sharma emphasized the urgent need for expanded sports infrastructure in Jammu, highlighting his commitment to pursuing the development of a new stadium for the growing population. He acknowledged the Government of India's active role in supporting sports in J&K and praised the Mountaineering Association's efforts to promote adventure sports in the Union Territory.
