26 players shortlisted for J&K Bank Academy Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 13: J&K Bank conducted trials for selection of football players for its Jammu Football Academy today at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
The trials were conducted under the supervision of Chairman of J&K Bank Sports Board, Surjeet Singh Sehgal. Sixty five young football players participated in the trials. The selection committee after minutely analyzing their skills, speed, strength and ability to coordinate with other players shortlisted 26 probables for the 2nd phase of the trials which will be conducted tomorrow at University ground, here.
Players from across the length and breadth from Jammu division demonstrated their skills during the trials. The aspirants were made to play friendly matches with the players selected for Under 19 State Team which is to participate in the National Championship for Dr. B.C.Roy Trophy to be held at Bilaspur Chattisgarh from January 30, 2016. During the friendly matches the aspirants played extremely well and some of the aspirants showed their potential.
Out of the 26 probables shortlisted, the final team of 16 players will be selected after the end of 3 days selection process on January 15, 2016. The selected players will be part of Jammu wing of J&K Bank Football Academy for a period of 3 years during which they will get stipend of Rs 1500 per month in addition to other benefits like apparels, equipment etc.
