278th Jayanti of Swami Mirza Kak celebrated with fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Jan 3: The 278th Jayanti of Swami Mirza Kak popularly known as Kak Sahab was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at his Nagrota Asthapan near here, today.
In this connection a Maha Yagya was also solemnized at the Asthapan where a replica of Swami Ji’s Samadhi has been constructed by Swami Mirza Kak Trust Hangalgund camp Jammu soon after the mass exodus of the Pandits from Valley.
The Maha Yagya started yesterday evening and it culminated this afternoon with Puranahuti. The devotees from different parts of Jammu and Jagti township and Nagrota camp attended the religious function and paid obeisance to this mystic saint of medieval Kashmir.
The Trust had made all arrangements for visiting devotees in accordance with COVID guidelines. Giving discourses on the life and teachings of Swami Ji the religious scholars said Swami Mirza Kak who had spelt a doom for then Afghan ruler which is also reflected in one of his Vaakhs had kept the Vaakh tradition (Parampara) of Kashmir alive. They said his prophecy came true as within some days then King of Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh attacked Kashmir and defeated the tyrant Afghan ruler and freed Kashmir and its people from their atrocities.
They said the Vaakhs of Swami Ji are thought provoking and are as relevant today as they were during his life time. They are full of religious philosophy reflecting that Swami Ji was on the highest pedestal of spiritual life.
The Trust representatives also gave an account of the progress of construction of Hangla Devi temple and dharmshalla at village Hangalgund in Kokernag, the birth place of Swami Ji where his Samadhi exists.
After Puranahuti the devotees were served prashad. A samohik Aarti was also held by devotees at the Asthapan.
