KISHTWAR, Sept 17: Twenty-eight people were injured when a private bus skidded off a road near Bandarkote area here today.
The accident took place near Bandarkote around 1.50 pm when the driver of the bus, which was on its way to Chingam village from Jammu, lost control while negotiating a curve.
The bus skidded off the road and rolled down several metres before coming to a halt on the roof of a mud-house on a hill slope.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation along with locals. Click here to watch video
All the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar, from where four injured persons were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu and one to a hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Sharif, Abdullah, Nusrat Begum, Lal Din, Minu Kumar, Ghulam Hussain, Sunny, Ghulam Rasool, Papu Kumar, Mohammad Shaban, Meena Kumari, Mohammad Shafi, Firdous Ahmed, Kanta Devi, Khana Begum, Ilam Din, Ghulam Nabi, Sanjeet Thakur, Muzamil, Irshad Ahmed, Mohammad Yousuf, Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Rafiq, Zarifa Begum, Raj Kumar, Nitish Kumar and Rohit Kumar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Kishtwar Police Station and investigation started.
