REASI, Sept 20: 29th State Sports Meet Athletics Samaroh, organized by Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti J&K concluded at General Zorawar Singh Stadium, here.
The programme was inaugurated by Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary State Sports Council J&K in the presence of Dr. Swaran Singh Chib, District Youth Services Sports Officer Reasi, Capt. Hunar Jain 58 RR, Suresh Parihar, Joint Secretary Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti J&K, Secretary Sports, Sameer Krishan Saproo BSS J&K, Krishan Datt Sharma President School Management Committee, Brahm Datt Ji, Secretary School Management Committee BVM Reasi and senior citizens of Reasi.
Babu Ram, Additional District Magistrate Reasi was the chief guest on the prize distribution function, while Arun Gupta, President Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti J&K presided over the function.
Sameer Krishan Saproo, Secretary Sports Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti J&K was the main speaker in which he highlighted the achievements of BSS J&K and informed that the organization is the state unit of Vidya Bharti, one among World’s largest NGOs working in the field of education, running 15000 schools all over the country and in J&K Runs 38 Schools in which there is One Higher Secondary Schools, 10 High schools, 8 Middle schools and 19 Primary & Pre Primary schools in Jammu & Ladakh Regions of J&K State.
In this Athletic Meet 150 athletes from 8 districts of J&K participated in different athletics events Races (100, 200, 400, 600,800,1500,3000, 4×100 Relay, 3 Km walk, Jumps (Long, High and Tripple) and Throws (Discuss, Shortput, Javellian, Hammar ) in U 11, U 14 & U 17 Boys & Girls along with special programmes of Vandna, Geet, Discipline & March Past competitions.
Naresh Singh, Principal BVM High School Reasi introduced the guests & presented the welcome address.
The chief guest appreciated the organization for holding such events and assured his help in the development of growing sports persons.
