2nd Christmas T-20 Cricket Cup begins today

JAMMU, Mar 17:  2nd Christmas Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized jointly by the Range Police Headquarters Jammu and Christian Sports Organization J&K will begin at KC Sports Club Ground, Akhnoor Road, here from tomorrow.
According to the organizers, the objective of the Tournament is to channelize the energy of the youth in right direction and to provide the platform for the State players to hone their skill.
16 teams are participating in the Tournament, being played with a slogan ‘Be healthy-Don’t Do Drugs’.
The participating teams include K C Sports Club, Star Cricket Club, Samar Sports Club, Simula Eleven, Jammu Gymkhana, RCC Srinagar, Bathindi Cricket Club, Sai Cricket Club, Christian Sports XI, Delhi Cricket Club, JKP Cricket Eleven, K C Srinagar , H C Srinagar, Atman Sports, B C Srinagar and S K Police Academy.
The inaugural matches of the tournament will be played between Star Cricket Club and Sai Cricket Club, RCC Srinagar and KC Sports Club. Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu will be the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony, while Fr Kuriakose, Chairman of the Christian Sports Organization J&K will be the guest of honour.
The tournament will be organized under the overall supervision of the Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu whereas the other organizing committee members include Rajnish Pran, SP SO to DIG, Hilal Rather, MD Simula, Prashant Mahajan and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officers; Victor Sotra vice president CSO, Asif Gill, David Mattoo, Sunny Gill and William Mattoo.   The technical Panel includes Rajesh Dhar, Sudhir Singh, Harbinder Singh, JD Singh, Saleem-ur- Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Shashi Paul, Nitu, Sandeep and Yogesh Sharma.
“The Tournament was to be conducted on the occasion of Christmas but due to in-availability of venue, the Tournament, which is an annual feature, was postponed and will begin tomorrow,” informed Rajesh Gill, organizing secretary of the Tournament.
