JAMMU, June 9: A one day 2nd District Bocce Ball Championship was organised by J&K Sports Bocce Ball Association (JKBBA) in collaboration with S.D Tara Puri High School Gandhi Nagar, here today.
Around 200 players from various schools participated in this event. Vikram Randhwa, Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) was the chief guest while Harjeet Singh, Tehsildar, Gadi Ghar and Ranjeet Kour, State Taxes Officer were the presiding guests.
Randhwa distributed medals and certificates among the winners and also appreciated efforts of the Association for organizing such events.
Shiksha Niketan High School remained on top of the medals telly in the championship, Dogra Higher Secondary School came second and S.D Tara Puri High School secured third position in medals tally. The matches were officiated by Suryansh, Gurvansh Choudhary, Sandeep Sharma, Ankit Sharma, Dhruv Choudhary and Sahil Kaith.
The players who won gold medals are Nipun Gupta, Manik, Arav, Aryan, Sareshta, Laxmi, Pihu, Aradhya, Pavani, Vidhya, Rakshita, Pragati, Jatin, Karan, Natik, Kapish, Sushant, Chetan, Rehaan, Prafful and Khushi. All the gold medal winners now will be selected for the 7th Bocce Ball Championship scheduled to be held at Delhi from 10 June to 23 June.
