KATHUA, Feb 28: Organized by J&K Amateur Boxing Association at Sports Stadium Kathua, the 2nd Kathua District Boxing Championship concluded today.
The championship was inaugurated by Parkash Lal Thapa, Chief Education Officer Kathua.
In senior category, Sahil Lalotra defeated Rohit Raina (60 kg) in finals, Asif Ali defeated Mijjul Bawa (63.5 kg), Sahil Ali defeated Ujjwal Khajuria and Ashutosh Sharma defeated Rajat Kumar (81 kg) while in sub junior category, Kitten Sharma defeated Jassu Mishra, Uddhayak defeated Bhanu Pratap Rishi Lalotra, Talib Hussain defeated Parveen Kumar, Danish Sajad defeated Karun and Ranjeet Singh defeated Sunny.
In women category, Rajwani Tania, Joyeeta defeated Tripta Devi and Pratibha defeated Anju Devi. Later in the evening, Rahul Yadav, Depuy Commissioner Kathua, distributed medals and certificates to meritorious boxers. SSP Kathua R C Kotwal graced the occasion as guest of honour.
Other dignities present were Sat Pal Singh (Manager, Sports Stadium Kathua), Sarish Sharma, chief coach SAI (RTD) and Physical Director GDC Kathua Naresh Kumar.
The championship was organized under the supervision of Sandeep Singh Chib, Ashish Jasrotia and Rajneesh Kumar.
