JAMMU, Oct 25: The 2nd Rajinder Magotra Basketball Tournament commenced at the Mini Stadium Parade Ground, here today, organized by the Rajinder Magotra Sports Welfare Club.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest ADGP Jammu Anand Jain, who emphasized the importance of sports and youth engagement. Ranjit Kalra, a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, was also present as guest of honour.
The tournament began with an exciting match between the Rajinder Basketball Club (RBC) and BSF Jammu. RBC showcased a stellar performance, winning decisively with a score of 100 to 63. Standout players Gaurav and Pratanshu were instrumental in their team’s success, leading the scoring.
In the second match, the Rajinder Magotra Sports Welfare Club (RMSWC) faced the Court Warriors, securing victory with a final score of 49 to 32. Key contributions from players Pranav and Rajesh Bandral helped RMSWC achieve their win.
This annual tournament honours the legacy of Rajinder Magotra and promotes sportsmanship and community involvement, fostering unity and competitive spirit among the youth. The event promises an exciting line-up of matches in the days to come.
