JAMMU, Oct 24: The much-anticipated 2nd Rajinder Magotra Memorial Basketball Tournament is set to begin at Mini Stadium Parade, Jammu, from October 25 to 27. Organized in memory of the late Rajinder Magotra, a revered basketball coach and former handball player, this event honors his immense contributions to Indian sports.
Rajinder Magotra, a passionate sportsman, completed his NIS diploma in basketball in 1988 and joined the Sports Authority of India (SAI) the same year as a coach. Throughout his career, he held key postings in Delhi, Srinagar, Jammu and Katra, playing a pivotal role in promoting and developing basketball at both the regional and national levels. This tournament is a tribute to his legacy, aiming to inspire young athletes and foster the growth of basketball at the grassroots.
The event will feature teams from various regions, promising high-level competition and an exciting showcase of talent. Budding players will have the chance to shine, making it a must-watch event for sports enthusiasts.
