2nd Samba District Indian Style Wrestling C’ship concludes

SAMBA, Mar 28: Second  District Samba Indian Style Wrestling Championship was organized by Samba District Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council, under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, which concluded at Bari Brahmana Stadium, here today.
The Championship was held under the overall supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Sarpanch Yogeshwar Singh.
Earlier, Mr Sharma, who is also treasurer of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India presented welcome address, while vote of thanks was presented by Bansi Lal Tidyal, general secretary J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The Championship was inaugurated by chief guest, Rajneesh Gupta, SDM Vijaypur in presence  of Mr Sharma and guest of honour, DySP Bari Brahmana, Kulbir Handa. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Naib Tehsildar Virender Singh, retired SP and treasurer J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, P R Sharma, retired JE Surinder Kumar Sharma, Kulbir Singh, Sarpanch Gautam Singh, retired Captain Karnail Singh, Om Parkash Kapoor, retired Captain Boloch Din, Sarbjeet Singh, Rajiv Singh, Jai Paul, Prem Kumar, General Secretary District Samba Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Director Competition, NIS Wrestling Coach Mulkh Raj Sharma conducted the proceedings of the Championship.
The bouts were officiated by Kulbir Singh and Prem Kumar. SDM Rajneesh Gupta and DySP Kulbir Handa also spoke on the occasion.
Shiv Kumar Sharma in his speech informed that more than 40 wrestlers drawn from Samba district are participating in this District Wrestling Championship.
Final Result: In 55 Kg, Anil Chopra, Raj Kumar won gold and silver respectively, and Rocky Kumar and Sunil Choudhary shared bronze medal, while in
61 Kg, Chhatterpati bagged gold, Sunil Saini won silver, while Swarn Kumar and Sarwan claimed bronze medals.
In 67 Kg, Yunas Ali and Hussain Kumar    bagged  gold and silver respectively, while Angrez Singh and Dillawar Singh shared bronze medal.
In 75 Kg, Vinod Singh clinched gold, Chain Singh won silver, while Ravi Kumar and    Subash Chander claimed bronze medals.
Mohd Farooq, Ravinder Singh and Ranbir Singh claimed gold, silver and bronze medals in 85 Kg respectively, while in 97 Kg, Zakir Hussain won gold, Ajay Kumar clinched silver and Rakesh Kumar claimed bronze medal.
