MENDHAR, June 23: The disputed second semifinal between New 5 Star Cricket Club and Mendhar Cricket Club of the 1st Mendhar Premier League (MPL) T20 Cricket Tournament would be replayed at OP Hill Stadium Mendhar, here soon.
The decision in this regard was taken by the Organizing Committee headed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mendhar, Ranjeet Singh and Amit Basin after the players of Mendhar Cricket Club launched a protest against the decision of the organizers to give the match to New 5 Star Cricket Club when the bad light and inclement weather conditions had stopped play.
It is pertinent to mention here that one of the members of 3 member organizing committee including Amit Saini, Wasim Ahmed Khan and Masoom Ahmed Raja took the decision to make New 5 Star Club win after bad light stopped play when Mendhar Club was struggling at 40 for the loss of 4 wickets in 5 overs while chasing a target of 117 runs set by New 5 Star Club, which forced the Mendhar Cricket Club to launch a protest in front of SDM Office Mendhar.
The SDM assured the team members that the match would be replayed at the same venue on the date to be convened to both the teams later-on.
