JAMMU, Jan 14: The Jammu & Kashmir Tug of War Association, under the President-ship of Hardeep Singh Anand organized 2nd Senior Open State Championship, which got underway at Unique Public Higher Secondary School, Gadi Garh, here today.
The function was attended by Jodh Singh Isher, Secretary, Jasvir Singh, Joint Secretary, Nirlap Kaur, Principal Unique Public Higher Secondary School, Gadi Garh, Ravinder, International player of Tug-of-War Association and Gaurav Sharma.
Twelve teams are taking part in the Championship, the Closing Ceremony of which will be held on January 15, 2016 at 1 pm, wherein the team to represent the State in the 28th Senior Men National Championships at Aurangabad, Maharashtra scheduled from January 22 and 23, 2016.
The selected players will be attending a coaching camp to enhance their skills accordingly.
In the matches played today, District Budgam outplayed District Samba by 2-0 sets, Jammu District beat Kathua District by 2-1 sets, Unique Public HSS drubbed Bhagat Singh Club by 2-0 sets, Guru Harkrishan HSS got better of High School Sohanjana by 2-1 sets, Khalsa Club Miran Sahib defeated Dashmesh Club by 2-0 sets and Unique Club Jammu trounced Friends Club RS Pura by 2-0 sets.
