JAMMU, Nov 18: A joint team of District Special Branch (DSB) and RS Pura police apprehended three criminals along with two pistols, 10 live rounds and one sharp edged weapon.
As per police sources, the sleuths from DSB and a team from RS Pura Police Station laid a naka at Chohala and signaled a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AN-6069 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the rider accelerated the motorcycle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the vehicle after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered two pistols, ten live rounds and one sharp edged weapon from the possession of three persons riding on the motorcycle and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sunny Kumar, son of Yog Raj, a resident of Ward Number 4, RS Pura, Waseem Khan alias Viku, son of Inayat Ullah of Ward Number 9, Bishnah and Sanjeev Kumar alias Munna, son of Tarsem Lal of Chak Islam, RS Pura.
The accused Sunny Kumar was earlier booked under PSA and six heinous criminal cases already stands registered against him in different police stations of district Jammu. With the arrest of these criminals, police foiled their major plot to eliminate rival group.
A case under FIR Number 267/17 under Section 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO RS Pura Inspector Bishnesh Kumar along with DSB team made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary, DySP DSB Sagar Singh, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
