JAMMU, May 5: Jodhamal Public School is all set to host 3-day Jammu Literary Festival-2015 from May 7 here.
The festival is being organized by the Scholastic in collaboration with Jodhamal Public School, with a vision of “Putting a Book in Every Child’s Hand” and promoting reading practices among children.
This was disclosed by the Principal, Trilok Singh Bist, while addressing media persons at Jodhamal Public School, here today.
He said that this Festival will focus on adding 10 minutes a day to a child’s reading, be it a newspaper, magazine or the novels. The Festival aims at creating new young writers of 21st Century.
The Festival will be inaugurated by Prof R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Jammu University on May 7 at 9 am and galaxy of personalities will be present on the occasion.
This three day long, multi-faceted Jammu Literary Festival-2015 has several stimulating components designed to give parents and the students an enriching experience, with a great blend of literature, culture, art and heritage.
HoD English, Radhika Sharma said that this literary Festival will give a greater exposure to the Jammu Kids and we will be able to generate interest among future of our country for reading and writing.
During this festival, there will be a Cartooning Sessions by famous Cartoonist, Ajit Narayan and Story Telling Session by renowned story teller, Simi Srivastava.
The Principal said that all the CBSE Schools from Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota and Samba will be participating actively in this Festival.
Prominent among others present on this occasion were Trustees Jodhamal School, Nandan Kuthiala and Arati Kuthiala; Vice Principal, Monika Sethi; Administrative Officer, BB Sharma and Senior Coordinator, Santosh Dogra.
