3-day Soft Tennis C’ship begins in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Nov 12: More than 200 players from all districts of Jammu and Kashmir are expected to compete in a three-day Soft Tennis tournament that began here today.
The 5th J&K UT Soft Tennis Championship is being held in cooperation with the J&K Sports Council at Gindun Sports Stadium Rajbagh Srinagar for all age categories in Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls), Junior (Boys & Girls), and Senior (Boys & Girls) (Men & Women).
Nuzhat Ara, Divisional Sports Officer J&K Sports Council, welcomed the participants who had travelled from all over Jammu and Kashmir for the Championship and recommended them to participate in sports because it will keep them fit. She was the chief guest on the occasion.
Ghulam Hassan, general secretary J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association, stated that players from all over J&K have expressed an interest in the game of soft tennis and that such an event was made possible by the Association’s hard work. “The championship was made possible by the hard work of the general secretary J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association,” he said.
All of the J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association’s officers were present, as were all of the district presidents and secretaries from all of the districts.
