Be cautious, indications of 2nd wave: Dr Naveed

SRINAGAR/JAMMU/ LEH, Feb 18: Kashmir today reported three COVID-19 deaths taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1,954 while 76 people tested positive in the Valley taking the tally of such cases in J&K to 125,634.
And the Head of Department at Chest Disease Hospital Dr Naveed Nazir today called for a cautious approach and warned of indications of the second wave of COVID-19.
Dr Naveed said that whosoever gets the opportunity, should get COVID vaccine and take precautions. He added that states like Kerala and Maharashtra have started to heat up and people need to take precautions in this regard.
“Beware and cautious … Indications of second wave beginning to come.. Maharashtra/Kerala starting to heat up again … TAKE VACCINE whosoever get an opportunity and TAKE PRECAUTIONS (sic),” Nazir tweeted.
Three people who had tested positive in Kashmir died today taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1954 and 76 people tested positive in the Valley.
Those who tested positive include 48 from Srinagar, 6 Baramulla, 10 Budgam, 6 Pulwama, 1 Anantnag, 3 from Bandipora and 2 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 26,687 positive cases including 461 deaths and 25,924 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,173 including 175 deaths and 7,960 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,845 including 7,684 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Budgam, 5,809 including 5,680 recoveries and 89 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,672 including 96 deaths and 5,571 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,974 including 4,850 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,708 cases including 4,630 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,660 including 4,582 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,712 including 2,647 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,592 including 2,533 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 73,832 including 72,061 recoveries and 1,229 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 688 including 542 from Kashmir division.
With 53 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 122,992, which is 97.90 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, 11 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu region today, all in Jammu district while no fresh cases were reported from nine other districts.
Nineteen persons recovered from the virus including 10 in Jammu, four Samba, three Doda and two in Poonch.
Jammu region now has 51802 cases. Among them, 146 are active positives while 50931 have recovered from the virus and there were 725 casualties.
In Ladakh, only one Corona positive cas was today reported in Leh.
