3 drug peddlers arrested

KATRA, Mar 6: Continuing its drive against drug abuse, Katra Police today arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered 22 gm of heroin as well as 280 capsules of Tramadol from their possession.
Sharing details, Police said that during patrolling at Balni area of Katra, police party apprehended one person namely Gourav Banotra alias Mintu, son of Mohan Lal, resident of Matyal, Katra and recovered 280 capsules of Tramadol from his possession.
A case FIR number 70/2023, under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at the Police Station Katra.
The other drug peddlers, identified as Shakti Kumar, son of Sain, resident of Serwad and Akash Gill, son of Bodh Raj, resident of Basholi, Kathua, were arrested by Police at Parthal Chowk area of Katra. 22 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from their possession.
In this regards, separate case FIR number 72/2023, under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. Further investigation in the case is under process to unearth forward and backward linkage and to nab whole gang involved in this trade.
Arrests and recovery were made by SHO Katra, Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Surinder Singh Baloria.
