3 drug peddlers arrested with Rs 1.60 lakh heroin

UDHAMPUR, June 8: Three drug peddlers have been arrested along with 16 grams of heroin valuing Rs 1.60 lakh from Jakheni area, falling under the jurisdiction of Udhampur Police Station.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Jakheni and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK21-6240.
During checking, police recovered 16 grams heroin valuing Rs 1.60 lakh from the possession of three persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shabeek Ahmed alias Shiku, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Kheri, district Udhampur, Shakeel Ahmed, son of Manjoor Ahmed of Jakheni, district Udhampur and Sunny Sharma, son of Ashok Sharma of Railway Road Katra, district Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 253/18 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Choudhary and assisted by SI Rahul Mahajan made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Udhampur Kulbir Handa and Incharge SSP Udhampur Faisal Qureshi.
