3 employees suspended for infant’s death

RAJOURI, Jan 21: The District Hospital Administration today placed three staff members of Rajouri hospital under suspension for the negligence, which allegedly caused death of a new born male baby in hospital yesterday.
On the instructions of the Director Health Services Jammu, the Superintendent of the hospital Dr Chaman Lal constituted a four member inquiry committee from the same hospital and placed three staffers under suspension pending inquiry.
Those placed under suspension are Staff Nurse- Samita, Junior Pharmacist Nasir Dar and FMPHW, Anjum. Dr Rashid from the same hospital heads the committee. The action was taken only after Minister Incharge, Health Shabir Khan took cognizance of the matter after coming to know that several deaths of new born babies have taken place in Rajouri hospital in last three weeks. Report of another committee probing death of another baby in same hospital is yet to be submitted by the Committee headed by Dy Director Health, Dr Baldev Sharma.
