3 J&K Wushu Athletes reach finals at 38th National Games

JAMMU, Jan 31: Jammu & Kashmir’s Wushu athletes have delivered an outstanding performance at the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, with three players Surya Bhanu Partap, Mohd Kamraan and Ayeera Chisti securing spots in the finals.
The team has already won 3 Silver and 4 Bronze medals, showcasing exceptional talent and determination. Surya Bhanu Partap, an Asian Games medalist, will face Manipur in the final, while Mohd Kamraan, a national gold medalist, will compete against SSCB and Ayeera Chisti, a Junior World Championship bronze medalist, will battle MP for the gold.
In the semi-finals, Rohan, Saleem Kumar, Arjun and Ishant narrowly lost their bouts in closely contested matches. The achievement of these athletes has been widely celebrated by the sports community, with J&K Sports Council Secretary, Nuzhat Gul, extending congratulations telephonically to the finalists and wishing them success in their pursuit of gold.
Kuldeep Handoo, Dronacharya Awardee, expressed confidence in the athletes’ ability to secure gold, thanking the J&K Sports Council and Government officials, including Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, for their continued support.
