3 killed, 8 hurt in Doda mishap

DODA, Mar 7: Three members of a marriage party were killed and eight others sustained injuries when a Tata Sumo, they were travelling in, plunged into deep gorge this evening.
The ill-fated Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK 06-3599 carrying marriage party members was on its way from Prem Nagar to Pranoo Bhaderwah when it rolled down into deep gorge near Galgander reportedly due to the negligence of the driver.
On getting information about the accident, police personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. After hectic efforts, all the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were brought out of the gorge and rushed to hospital where three of them were declared as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Kuljit Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal of Thathri, Arjun Singh, son of Daljit Singh of Shehrot  and Rajesh Kumar, son of Kanya Lal of Bhaderwah.
The injured have been identified as Koushal Kumar, son of Daljit Singh of Shadote, Suram Singh, son of Baljit Singh of Kandote, Pardeep Kumar, son of Dev Raj of Shadote, Sandeep, son of Dev Raj of Shadote, Minkal and Vinkal Kumar, sons of Piar Singh of Shadote, Om Prakash, son of Nand Lal of Shadote and Arvind Singh, son of  Daljit Singh of Shadote.
Their condition was stated to be out of danger when reports last came in.
