3 KP teams shortlisted for cricket extravaganza ‘KPL’ at Gurgaon

JAMMU, Oct 2: To promote sports and allied activities in Kashmiri Pandit Community across the Country, Kashyap Kashmir Sabha (KKS) Gurgaon, in collaboration with Kashmir Medical Emergency and Charitable Trust (KMECT), is organizing 4th edition of Cricketing Extravaganza (KPL) from October 10, 2015 at Gurgaon.
Three Kashmiri Pandit teams from Jammu have been shortlisted for this prestigious Tournament and the teams include Sangarmal Cricket Club, Vatak Cricket Club and Kounsarnag Cricket Club.
Today a function was organized at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Anand Nagar, Bohri to shortlist and announce the participating teams for Kashmiri Pandit League (KPL)-2015 from Jammu City and Jagti Township.
AK Raina, vice president All India Kashmiri Samaj; Sunil Thussu from KMECT; Vijay Kashkari, convener AIKS and Shiban Ji Bagati, general secretary Kashmiri Pandit Sabha while addressing the cricketers  threw light on the problems being faced by the youth of the community with regard to participating in sports activities to hone their skills.
Aryan Ramesh, secretary AIKS, J&K while giving brief report of the Tournament said that eight teams drawn from Delhi, Pune, Jammu and Chandigarh participated in the 3rd edition of this sporting extravaganza last year, adding that the 5th edition of this Tournament, which has become an annual feature, will be held in Jammu in 2016.
“We are thankful to corporate houses, sponsors, philanthropists and cricket enthusiasts for their support and cooperation and we hope for the same support in future also,” said a representative from AIKS.
