RAJOURI/POONCH, Dec 9: The police arrested three drug-peddlers in Rajouri and Poonch area and recovered 700 gms of charas and some quantity of heroin from their possession.
Official sources said that a police party led by SHO, Rajouri, Freed Ahmed under the supervision of DSP Headquarters Chanchal Singh during naka nabbed two persons at Dhangri today and recovered 400 gms and 300 gms of charas from their possession. Both of them were arrested on the spot.
They were identified as Tasvir Shah, son of Zulf Shah, resident of Dhangri and Tanvir Shah, son of Ashiq Shah, resident of Larkuti, in Bakori area of Rajouri. A case FIR No. 632/2022 was registered against them at Rajouri Police Station and further investigation was launched.
Meanwhile, Mandi (Poonch) Police party led by ASI Mohd Ashfaq, during naka at Bilal Chowk, Seri Khawaja, intercepted a youth late last evening and on his frisking recovered nearly ten grams of heroin.
The drug–peddler, identified as Imtiaz, son of Abdul Majeed hailing from Seri Khawaja area was arrested and a case FIR No. 144/2022 was registered against him, the police said.
