JAMMU, Apr 16: After the final nomination of the selected Indian team and dope test results taken by Indian Powerlifting Federation, three players from Jammu and Kashmir have been picked to represent India in the Asian Powerlifting Championship to be held at Udaipur (Rajasthan) from June 7 to June 12, 2016.
In Men’s section, Sandeep Kumar has been selected in 74 kg category, while another Sandeep Kumar has been selected in 93 kg category, while in Women’s section, Achint Kour has been picked in 72 kg category. These players are from J&K Sports Powerlifting Association.
President of the Association, Rakesh Jai, Ch. Zulfakar-Ali, Minister CA&PD of Food & Supply J&K,  Shambhu Gupta and Rajan Jain, general secretary  have lauded the efforts of the players for this achievement.
