KATHUA, Mar 11: In a tragic road mishap, three teenagers were killed after the Santro car in which they were traveling first hit a divider on the Jammu Pathankote National Highway at village Baghail Pali and then collided with a tralla at National Highway this afternoon.
They were identified as 16 year old Sahil Sharma, Son of Bittu Sharma, Satyam Sharma,20, Son of Isher Dass and Sahil Sharma 19, son of Babu Ram all residents of Ward No 1, Hiranagar. They were close relatives also.
A pal of gloom has descended on Hira Nagar township, after the news of the tragedy reached there.
As per police Sahil, son of Bittu Sharma took his Sentro car bearing number JK08-D 1594 and left for Kathua along with other two youth this afternoon. On return from Kathua township towards their home town, the car which was in fast speed first hit a divider at National Highway in village Baghail Pali, 10 kilometres from here and then collided with a tralla bearing number PV 35Q 2475 resulting into the instant death of all the three. The tralla was on its way from Jammu to Punjab.
The people rushed to the spot and brought the dead bodies which were trapped into the car out from it after hard efforts. Later, the police party from Kathua police station also rushed the spot and took the dead bodies to district Hospital Kathua for postmortem. The police after completion of formalities handed over the bodies to their families.
The Kathua Police has also registered a case in this regard under Section 279/304. The driver of the tralla is absconding.
