312 students hired during on-campus recruitment drives in J&K universities till June

SRINAGAR: As many as 312 students from various disciplines were hired by different companies during on-campus recruitment drives in Jammu and Kashmir universities in the last six months.

Meanwhile, 5,671 selections were made by various private sector companies against which 4,912 candidates joined till June 2016 under UDAAN.

Governor N N Vohra, who is the chancellor of the State Universities and Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra, reviewed the outcome of the on-Campus recruitment drives conducted in all the universities in J&K during the past six months.

An official spokesperson said in Jammu University, during the period from January 1 to July 1, nine Campus recruitment drives were conducted in which 29 students were hired by Welspun-I, ITC-3, Baldota Group-3, Wopro-8, Axis Bank etc.

In Kashmir University, during the period from January 1 to March 31, three recruitment drives were carried out in which 40 candidates from the disciplines of  BE, B Tech, (ECE & IT streams only), BCA, MCA, BSC (CS and Electronics) BSC IT, MSC IT, BBA/MBA were selected by Yes Bank, Rooman Tech, Ligare.

Similarly, only recruitment drive conducted during the first quarter of 2016 in S K University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) in which four students of PG-PBG, Pathology and Agriculture were selected by IFFCO. (AGENCIES)
