DODA, Nov 26: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Doda launched a robust enforcement drive against traffic violators. The drive has been ordered by the District Magistrate Doda Harvinder Singh to ensure the safety of the commuters and prevent road accidents, causing loss to the precious lives and property.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) DODA Rajesh Gupta submitted a comprehensive report detailing the extensive actions taken across various areas within the district. The team of MVD Doda, under the supervision of ARTO Doda, had taken strong action on traffic violations
The enforcement activities targeted key areas such as NH-244, 9th-KM entry point, Ghatsoo, Puneja, Thalela, Thathri, Gandoh, Bhalessa, Gowari, Bhaderwah, Bhalla, Trown, Bhasti, Koti, Gundna, and Bharat Road.
The report highlighted significant statistics, including the issuance of 239 challans, 79 compound challans, and the seizure of 31 vehicles during the drive. Impressively, a total of 318 challans were issued, amounting to a fine realization of ?168,500 from traffic violators.
Moreover, the drive also focused on ensuring road safety, issuing notices for suspension of driving licenses, with six licenses suspended due to violations such as using mobile phones and not wearing helmets. Additionally, three notices for the suspension of route permits were issued, leading to one route permit being suspended.
This concerted effort aims to enhance road safety, enforce traffic regulations, and instil a sense of responsibility among commuters. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer has informed that the drive shall continue throughout the district to instil a sense of responsibility among the drivers for a safe and smooth ply on the roads, especially during ensuing winter.
