NEW DELHI, Dec 18: A total of 33 requests have been recieved this year from foreign film-makers for shooting of films and television feature films in India, the government today said.
“During the year 2015 (till date), a total number of 33 requests from foreign filmmakers for shooting in India were received,” Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.
The minister said these requests include shooting of films and TV shows, and added that government was working to promote India as a filming destination.
The I&B ministry has taken up with Ministries of Home Affairs and External Affairs issues relating to easing of visa norms as well as simplification of procedures for according permission, duly taking into consideration the security concerns and other issues, he said. (PTI)
