JAMMU, Oct 2: The third day of the 36th Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls) National Tenni-Koit Championship 2024 was held at the Green Field Playground, Gandhi Nagar here today.
The championship, which spans five days, is organized by the J&K Tenni-Koit Association under the aegis of the Tenni-Koit Federation of India, in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council.
The event was graced by Gaurav Gupta, Secretary Jammu Club and former Secretary General of Chamber of Commerce Jammu, as the chief guest, and Sunil Sharma, Accounts Officer, Youth Services and Sports J&K, as the guest of honour. Addressing the participants, the chief guest commended the organizers for their efforts in promoting and developing sports across the country. He also emphasized the importance of such events in positively channelizing the energy of the youth.
Several distinguished guests from various sports associations were present, including Capt. Murti Gupta, President of Lawn Tennis Association of J&K, Sunil Sharma, General Secretary of Archery Association of J&K, Sharat Chander Singh, General Secretary of J&K Amateur Athletics Association, and Rajeev Sharma, President of the Tenni-Koit Federation of India.
The chief guest interacted with players from different States and Union Territories, offering words of encouragement and support to the young athletes. The championship continues to be a platform for showcasing talent and fostering sportsmanship, with participants demonstrating dedication and skill in the game.
