JAMMU, Nov 30: The 36th Yonex Sunrise Sub Junior (U-13) National Badminton Championships-2024, organized by the Badminton Association of J&K (BAJK) in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded at the Indoor Sports Complex, here today. Chander Parkash Ganga, MLA and former Minister, who is also the President of BAJK, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and presented prizes to the winners and runners-up.
The event saw outstanding performances from young shuttlers across the country. Anikesh Dutta of Assam won the boys’ singles, while Hamsini Chadaram of Telangana took the girls’ singles title. In the boys’ doubles, Aditya Singh Negi and Tanmay Verma from Uttarakhand emerged victorious, while Aryama Chokarborty and Lakshmi Sai Aaradhya from West Bengal won the girls’ doubles title.
Prominent attendees included Dr. O.D. Sharma, Vice President of Badminton Association of India (BAI) & Chairman of BAJK, Ajay Singhania, Vice President of BAI, and Observer BAI; Mayur Parik, Joint Secretary of BAI; Anukamma Choudhary, Member BAI; Rajeev Sharma, Member J&K Sports Council; Mohd Hanif, Chief Sports Officer; Baljinder Pal Singh, J&K Divisional Sports Council; and Suraj Bhan Singh, Manager, Indoor Sports Complex, Jammu. The matches were conducted under the supervision of Referee Chander Kant Sharma, with significant support from parents and sports enthusiasts.
