JAMMU, Nov 29: The 36th Yonex-Sunrise Sub Junior National Badminton Championships 2024 saw an exciting Day 3 of competition at the M.A. Stadium, with intense quarterfinal and semifinal matches in the U-13 category.
Boys’ Singles U-13 Quarterfinals: Top seed Satvik Agrawal (RAJ) advanced to the semifinals after a commanding 21-13, 21-19 victory over Krishav Puppala (TS). In another thrilling match, Linesh Vaibav S. (TN) outplayed Taabin Anuf Ahamed M.F. (TN) by 21-8, 21-10. S. Gomathi Natchiyar Kumaran (TN) edged past Aditya Yaul (MAH) by 21-9, 20-22, 21-19 in a nail-biting three-set encounter. Anikesh Dutta (ASM) (TN) clinched a dominant 21-7, 21-12 win over Prithish S. (TN).
Girls’ Singles U-13 Quarterfinals: Aryama Chakraborty (WB) triumphed over Alexander Alexia Elsa (KER) 21-15, 21-14. Hamsini Chadaram (TS) defeated Inayat Gulati 21-13, 21-17. Anvi Rathore (RAJ) showed her dominance with a 21-7, 21-13 win over Manaswi Suragani (AP). In a thrilling comeback, Bedagni Gogoi (ASM) bounced back to defeat Sanjanaa Nakulan (KER) 20-22, 21-11, 21-11.
Boys’ Doubles U-13: Aditya Singh Negi & Tanmay Verma (UTR) won comfortably against Gautham S. Nair & Siddharth S. Nair (KTK) by 21-12, 21-16. V. Chaoutakuri & S. Samala (TS) cruised to a 21-11, 21-13 victory over Kunal 0 & Jayesh Duggal (HAR). K. Puppala & C. Wankhede (TS) fought back to win 21-17, 11-21, 21-15 against Ateeq Ahmad & Ankur Pratap Singh.
Girls’ Doubles U-13: A. Chakraborty & L. Rachapudi (WB/AP) easily beat Laxmi Reddy B. & Ritika Das (ORI) by 21-8, 21-8. J. M. & J. Nidiginti (TN) triumphed by 21-12, 21-18 over Khyati & Vidhi Saini (MAH). The competition continues to intensify as the young talents move forward in their bid for national glory.
