JAMMU, Nov 12: The 37th Jammu District Badminton Championship-2022, organised by Jammu City and District Badminton Association (JCDBA) in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, got underway at Indoor Complex Badminton Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was inaugurated by Baldev Singh Baloria, Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, while Dr OD Sharma, vice President BAI, Balbir Jamwal, general secretary, BAJK, DV Sharma, general secretary, JCDBA.
The matches are conducted by Rahul Sharma, referee with the assistance of Touseef Ahmad, Vikram Saini, Divam Gupta (Badminton coaches) and Pawanjit Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Puran Chand.
More than 150 players are participating in the championship.
In boys singles under-13, Arvindam beat Arav Saslgotra by 2-0, Karan took walkover Shine, Tanish Sharma trounced Ariv Raina by 2-0, Dilshan Verma defeated Saksham by 2-1, Surya Dev beat Aatav Gupta by 2-0, Basu got walkover, Davesh defeated Arslan by 2-0, Ayan Kohli beat Sehajpal Singh by 2-0, Vivan Gupta trounced Daksh Singh by 2-0, Ritesh, Artik, Arnav Sharma and Rupesh Chib got walkover, Vaibhav Pandita beat Krishna Gupta by 2-1, Sukhnain got walkover, Abhiunsh Singh beat Achyut Gupta by 2-1, Bhavansh beat Vansh Sangar by 2-0, Raghav defeated Utkarsh by 2-0, Kartik trounced Vansh Angral by 2-0 and Aarav defeated Abhinav by 2-0.
In girls singles-13, Aaira Firdus beat Parinity by 2-0, Ananya trounced Hunarpreet Kour by 2-0, Rudraksh Rathor got walkover, Gargl beat Aleena Singh by 2-0, Gania Singh beat Shranya Sharma by 2-0, Tara Shan defeated Rupashi Dawan by 2-0 Tejawani got walkover and Diamond Rajput beat Aaira Frandus by 2-0.
