39th Stag J&K State Table Tennis C’ship gets underway

JAMMU, Nov 24: The 39th Stag J&K State Table Tennis Championships got underway today at Indoor Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
The Championship was declared open by Sanjay Wahi, who while addressing oon the occasion encouraged the young players of the State to play in the right spirit of the game.
Around 220 participants from various districts of the state will be participating in different age groups to be held in the next 5 days.
Today, in Under-12 Cadet Boys first round, Rohan beat Gourav Singh 2-0, Sourav drubbed Divyansh Aggarwal 2-0, Yuvkaran trounced Sach 2-1, Tejaswinder outplayed Gourav 2-0, Gurshani outclassed Madhav 2-0, while in Under-12 Cadet Girls first round, Iknoor defeated Prisha 2-0, Shubima got the better of Niharika 2-1 and Divyanshi prevailed over Mrigin Kour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Vasu Dewan,  Anil Dutta, Sandeep Khadotra, Shorya Sharma, Sh Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra  and Sanjeev Gupta, besides Ashok Singh, Manager MA Stadium and Narinder Singh from Poonch.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Khadotra (NIS Table Tennis coach), Narinder Kour (NIS Coach), Meenu Rajesh and Asad Sharma (Coach).
